Luke attempting to take some time off the Brooke-Taylor war and just
present the events of the day, a day that was hardly as exciting as
a Friday during August sweeps should be.

ERIC AND TAYLOR BY THE CANDLELIGHT or LET'S BE DIVORCED TOGETHER

Taylor is walking around in her beach house waiting for the power company
to connect her place. She has lit candlelights till they come and is
unpacking dressed in a plain blue Denim shirt (no budget for clothes
today at Bell productions, ha?). Eric appears instead of the electricity
people, bringing different sparkles. Taylor has been looking at the divorce
papers Ridge served her, but she can't bring herself to sign them. She tells
Eric that she is glad to see him. "I've been thinking about you and came to
see how you are," Eric says. He congratulates her on taking the plunge to
buy the house brings her a housewarming present. As she goes to bring him
some "sparkling water" (I am telling ya) he looks at the divorce papers
on the coffee table.

OUR SON IS FIGHTING: IS HE TAKING AFTER HIS MOTHER OR GRANDMOTHER?

The Ridge and Brooke boudoir. Ridge is in front of the mirror (OF COURSE)
while Brooke enters and starts talking about Eric Jr.'s fight at baseball
practice. "He did not say a word about it, just went back to sleep"
Ridge says that when he went to pick him up he took a long way home to
get him to open up, took him even by his favorite ice cream place (don't
spoil the youth) and Eric said he was not hungry. Brooke hopes it is all
a passing phase (it is, it is called being a teenager).

THE DATING QUARTET

While Jessica thinks she is a mismatching (nop, make that matchmaking)
genius for bringing Connor and Maggie together, Dylan doubts it. Jessica
wonders why he is in such a weird mood. "My mother--it's something about
her--isn't it Dylan" Jessica wonders.
At the Forrester guest house Connor tells Maggie that he had a good time.
When Maggie says she did too, Connor tells her that he is confused about
something he saw while he was dancing with Jessica. "What did you see?"
Maggie asks "You and Dylan were at the table, and you were kissing. You and
your daughter's boyfriend--what's that about?" It's about to devour the
entire episode today, so as Maggie is looking at Connor, shocked by his
revelation, it is time to roll

B&B INTRO THEME

THE PARENT TRAP

As they discuss Eric Jr.'s problems, Ridge wonders if it is him. BINGO! But
Brooke tells him that it is his imagination when Ridge remarks he thinks
Jr.. is a bit distant. They go to bed before ten (what? No Jay Leno? What
will Ridge talk about in the office tomorrow?) Brooke proposes having Eric
talk to his son. Ridge agrees, and remarks that he is worried about dad
too. He seems so sad and lonely.

DOESN'T SEEM SAD FROM WHERE I AM SITTING

Eric toasts to Taylor's new home in what seem to be discontinued McDonalds
glasses. "You are always welcome here--I mean that" Taylor tells him.
They talk about the divorce papers. Eric says he has been there and knows
she does not sign them because she does not want to let go. Eric tells
her to face the inevitable. Taylor says she is soul sick from the pain and
sense of loss that overwhelms her.

YOUR MOTHER? HOW ABOUT THOSE CUBS?

Jessica thinks Dylan does not like her mother. Dylan says she is wrong. Jess
asks him what they talked about while dancing ("the fate of Grateful Dead
after Garcia's death"Dylan feels like saying to shut her up, but instead
looks out the window)

Dylan says they were talking about her. "She wants you to be happy--your
happiness is more important to your mother than her own" Dylan tells her.
"She said that? That's really deep" Jessica replies (EXACTLY WHAT ARE THE
VERBAL SAT SCORES OF A UCLA FULL SCHOLAR, MAY I ASK?). Dylan notices that
Connor's car is still at Maggie's. Jessica thinks maybe something will
happen. Dylan decides to go home--NOT.

WE WERE NOT KISSING, I WAS CLEANING HIS TONSILS

Connor puts two and two together and asks Maggie if the guy who dumped
her was Dylan. Maggie is almost in tears and does not want to talk about
it. Maggie explains what happened and how she did not know about Dylan
and Jessica. She narrates the dinner when she found out the truth: "you have
no idea what it feels like to shake the hand of the man you have fallen in
love with, and pretend like you are meeting him for the first time" "Did
you say in love?" Connor asks. He realizes that it was Maggie who called
off the relationship, that is why she slapped him. He is the only man she
has really been in love with, but she will not see him again if it means
hurting Jessica, Maggie tells him.

PILLOW TALK

Ridge thinks he knows what is wrong with Eric. It has to do with Taylor
(ha? Did he have an IQ shot?) They were very close, and now with the
divorce he is not taking it well, Ridge thinks. "Probably opened up old
wounds" Brooke remarks. She wonders how Taylor is taking it. She hopes
someone is with her, all alone in the new house. Ridge says he never
meant to hurt anyone. "God, what she must be going through right now" he
exclaims as he hugs Brooke

ERIC AND TAYLOR ON PAIN AND LOVE

"Does the pain ever go away? You get used to it but it never really goes
away. In time it loses its punch" "Then what?" Taylor wonders. "You tack
it away in your heart and you go on with your life" Eric tells her. "But
something always happens and it reminds you and it all comes
back--something like a friend's broken heart and then your own heart
starts to hurt again" he goes on. This is what is happening now.
And here my sarcasm dried up. Hey, I was moved by that scene (it happens)
Taylor says she wants to be strong, but she feels like drifting. Eric
says he knows what being alone is like. They both thought they had it all
all and it slipped through their fingers. Taylor wonders if there is any
justice in the world. "Our day will come" Eric tells her.

LET'S TRY THIS

Connor says he understands what Maggie is going through, and he thinks
she is a wonderful woman. Connor sees Dylan at the window. "If you want
to send him a message, kiss me like you mean it" he tells Maggie. Maggie
kisses him and Dylan sees them. He leaves the place crying and looking
devastated.

TUNE IN MONDAY....

End Title: This may be Taylor's beach house. Wonderful post-sunset take.

Luke, on his first update. Hope I rose to the occasion.
