Note from Claire Rose
The Fr. Seraphim mentioned here is the same who
came to speak at different churches in South
Louisiana this year, St. Hilary's in our Diocese,
sponsored by some of the Brides of the Most
Blessed Trinity. I can also confirm being
awakened at the 3 a.m. hour to pray since 1987.
Please pray with us and for us for holy priests
and for more vocations to the Holy Priesthood.

Man dead 3 days, raised, confirmed!!
This an edited transcript of the radio-show
tape on Stanley that many people have been
talking about. Marian Communications is:

Drew: "Well, good afternoon, everyone.
Welcome back to The Road Less Traveled. I'm Drew
Mariani and as I have promised I'm looking
forward with great expectation to my next guest,
Mr. Paul Regan. He's going to share with us a
remarkable story. We're going to talk about
something that defies scientific explanation
...something that, to me, as a rational man, as
an educated man, is very, very hard to swallow.
Yet, as a man of faith, I take that leap and I
step out on that water and I say, "Why not?"
Christ told us that his apostles, his disciples
would do greater things than He did. So, why is
it so inconceivable, ladies and gentlemen, that
somebody could die, being clinically dead, and
yet rise from the dead with a powerful message for humanity?
Mr. Paul Regan is joining us from Malden , Mass.
Paul: "Well, when Father Seraphim, my wife and I
were in Rome and we met with Stanley ...we had
become aware of Stanley through the Devotion of
the Chaplet for the Dying. We had received a
telegram from a person in the Philippines telling
us of this story and Father Seraphim then began
to correspond back and forth with some of the
officials in the Church in the Philippines and he
sent Dr. Brian Thatcher who is the Director of
the Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy to the
Philippines to interview him and to interview
some of the cardinals and bishops over there. And
it's amazing, it's as you said, it's
supernatural. This is a story that's not for the
rational mind and I think God may be sending a message in that itself.
In this regard we met with him for approximately
four hours in Rome . And he's an amazing person
and the story is an amazing story. He's been
approved by Cardinal Bedo and also approved by
Cardinal Sin through Cardinal Bedo, and 12
bishops in the Philippines . So this is not
something that is just a fantastic story that has
no depth to it or no character. This is an
approved apparition by the Church. His spiritual
director was assigned to him by Cardinal Bedo unbeknownst to Stanley .
Tell us about Stanley and about the remarkable
occurrence that has taken place in his life and
why personally you believe he's authentic."
Paul: "Well, first of all, I believe, I can
just answer that question, because I personally
met with him and I've seen the papers, the
authorization papers by the cardinals and
bishops, I've seen his medical reports. I was
present with Father Seraphim Mekalanco who
questioned him at length. So, with all that
together with the verification and talking to the
man himself it became apparent to me. I had no
doubt. Even though the story is irrational. I
mean to a rational person living in the 20th
century there must be answers, but in this
particular case there are no answers.
Stanley in 1993 was working in a luggage
department at the local Sabu airport in Sabu in
the Philippines . He was married, he was 39 years
old and he had 8 children at the time. He was in
perfect health. He woke up one morning and was
about to go to work and as he got out of bed he
began to bleed profusely out of his nose, his
eyes, his ears and his mouth. He had projectile
bleeding from the mouth with every heartbeat. The
blood was squirting across the room. His wife,
who was a nurse, panicked at the sight of him and
called the ambulance. The ambulance took him to
the hospital and the whole time he was profusely
bleeding. He lost quarts and quarts of blood. I
don't know how much but an awful lot. He said
there were buckets of blood. And the doctors ran
all kinds of tests on him and they couldn't
locate any source of bleeding. He wasn't bleeding
from any source interiorly. They didn't know the
cause of the bleeding. There was no stroke. They
eliminated every aspect of what could cause it.
They were dumbfounded. And in that regard they
began to try...and assuming he was losing blood
and he would die from a loss of blood, they began
to give him maximum doses of valium to try and
slow the bleeding down. As they did his heart
rate and pulse and everything began to decrease
and he slipped into a coma. They then drew blood
from him to determine how much blood had been
lost and they were astounded to find he had lost
no blood. His blood was actually full. And at
that time they were absolutely astounded.
The attending physician turned to the nurse,
who was his ( Stanley 's) wife, and at the same
time in this hospital, his father-in-law was a
doctor and his brother-in-law was a doctor and
his wife was a nurse. They also helped and were
aiding and trying to figure out what the problem
was, and what the source of this bleeding was and
they couldn't. So he began to gradually slip into
a coma and from the coma he died. And he was declared medically dead.
The family began to place an ambue bag on him
which was an artificial form of breathing because
they didn't have a breathing machine at the
clinic. And they did this for a period of three days.
Many people have asked, "Why would you do
that?" I guess it was out of panic and the
attending physician allowed it because his
colleagues were part of the family. And this went
on for 3 days. And at the end of 3 days his blood
had been pooled in his legs and in the bottom of
his feet. His body had begun rigor mortis. He
(the attending physician) was asked to stop and
asked everyone to leave the room which they did..
And they were resigned to the fact that he was
dead but they didn't know why or what caused it or anything.
So, after they left the room, about a half
hour later, Stanley awoke and pulled all the
tubes out that had been in him and arose, sat up
on the side of the bed. A nurse came in and left
screaming... screeching...went running out to the
lobby. All the doctors came running back in and
he was standing there in perfect health
...nothing wrong with him...absolutely perfect.
They ran tests on him the rest of the day and
determined he was in perfect health. All of his
vital signs were absolutely perfect and they had no explanation."
Drew: "Okay, blood pooled in this man's feet,
heart had stopped, there was no brain activity, nothing at all.
Paul: "Right. Nothing at all. Totally dead."
Drew: "And the medical examiner came in and issued a death certificate."
Paul: "And declared him dead. In fact when he
was checking him out of the hospital, they
couldn't check him out because he had died and
they didn't know what to do legally."
Drew: "It's such a fascinating story. The
family kept a vigil over him, though, didn't they?"
Paul: "Yes, basically that's what they did.
They couldn't believe that he was dead and they
were hysterical and there was no reason for him
to die. He had been in perfect health and they
couldn't find anything, they couldn't find any
source of bleeding and they had eliminated everything imaginable."
Drew: "And there's no other medical
explanation for this death. There wasn't a coma of any sort."
Paul: ''No, he did go into a coma but they
don't know the cause of the coma. He had lost no
blood." Drew: "But ultimately, he died."
Paul: "Ultimately, he died."
Drew: "All right, good afternoon everyone.
Welcome back to The Road Less Traveled. I'm Drew
Mariani. We're joined this afternoon by a very
good friend of mine, a man who I have tremendous
respect for and a man who is sharing, I think, is
perhaps the most remarkable story of the year 2000.
Paul, I want to thank you first of all for
your time and for the courage to come on national
radio and share the story because, I think, to a
lot of people the story is, well, it's almost
bizarre. I mean, it's hard to believe that
somebody would be clinically dead and then come
back to life. But what happened to him when he
crossed to the other side is perhaps the most
important...the message that he was given. I want
you to share that with us but first let's take a few calls for you.
Caller: "I just wondered how old he was and how long ago this happened."
Paul: "He was 39 years old when it occurred..
It was March 3, 1993. So, he's 46 years old now and he has 13 children."
Caller: "Wow!"
New caller: "Doesn't this fall into the
category of near-death experiences?"
Paul: "I think it does. There's one aspect
that I should comment on concerning that. He did
die. It wasn't a near-death. He was dead and he
was proclaimed dead. But the one aspect...and
Father Seraphim did ask him what was the
significance of the bleeding with no source of anything wrong.
And Stanley said Christ had told him that it
was a purging, and in the Old Testament and it
struck Seraphim very sharply because he reacted
and he began to quote an Old Testament verse
concerning the Holy of Holies and the high priest
entering into the Holy of Holies had to be
purged. In other words it was some source of
blood letting and it was symbolic in theological
terms but very significant aspect of it."
Caller: "Is there any other information on
this story, this gentleman, is there literature?"
Paul: "Yes, there is. There's a book and it
has come out and it's in English concerning him.
Let me see if I can find the title of it. This
was sent to us from the Philippines . It's called
the Miracles of the Divine Mercy. And it's
complied by Mercy LotillaAsencio.. It's an
accumulation of miracles that have occurred in
the Philippines concerning the Divine Mercy. Many of them are from Stanley ."
Caller: "Do you know where we could get one?"
Paul: "I really don't. This was sent to me from the Philippines . "
Drew: "All right, Paul. I want to get into
what, I think, is the most important. The story
of a man who is dead coming back to life is
remarkable but the message by far is outstanding. "
Paul: "I'd like to make one comment just to
bring us up to the break. The attending
physician...this is extremely interesting...the
attending physician who was the attending
physician for Stanley and his case... when he saw
Stanley was risen from the dead. That doctor quit
the hospital that night and he joined the Jesuit
order and he is now a Jesuit priest in charge of
the Jesuit Hospital in the Philippines today. And
Stanley has requested a sabbatical for this
particular priest now to come with him to the
United States as his spiritual director, so that
he could answer any medical questions concerning it.
Drew: "That's amazing. When he rose from the
dead the man left the hospital after realizing
something miraculous took place went right into a Jesuit seminary."
Paul: "Right."
Drew: "Paul, I know many people are waiting
to hear exactly what message he has for the
world. Why don't you share a little bit about
what happened when he crossed to the other side."
Paul: "Okay. After Stanley died, he went into
a rather lengthy description of what occurred and
I'll try and relate it as best I can. He said as
he died the first image he saw was the image of
Christ as the Divine Mercy. Before his death the
only knowledge of Divine Mercy he was aware of
the 3 o'clock prayer and aware of the image
itself but knew nothing of the Divine Mercy
devotion itself. He was able to recognize Christ
as the Divine Mercy when he passed over.
First thing that occurred. Christ raised his
right hand from His heart toward what would be
the sky. As He did he saw what seemed to be a
grayish cloud formed above His left hand and it
began to swirl. As it swirled Stanley seemed to
be drawn into the swirl and the swirl then
stopped as he entered into it. The best he could
describe it was a movie screen. He said it was
not a movie screen but has no better words to
describe it than a movie screen. But at that
moment he began to see from the moment of his
conception every aspect of his life. Everything!
The screen would move. He said it was like
watching a video or TV screen although it wasn't.
Minus the knowledge of describing it any better,
this is the best he can do so picture it in that
regard. As he saw that he committed a sin this
movie screen type of thing would slow down, as he
saw his life in front of him, and he said he saw
everything, every aspect of his life. And when he
committed any sin, a venial sin, it would slow
down and it would pass through and at that time
he would feel some degree of remorse. When he
committed a mortal sin, it could come to a
complete stop and he felt as if he was drawn into
the actual event, the sin itself. At that moment
it was as if he was cast in stone he said, his
body became so heavy. It was heavy with guilt,
shame and embarrassment. He said he couldn't even
lift his head or his hands, nothing. He said the
best way to describe it was heaviness, total
heaviness and literally almost despairs until the
screen would pick up again and that would last
for a period of time which felt like an eternity although it probably wasn't.
An then whenever he did something good in his
life, charitable in any way toward anyone, or
anything good by way of prayer or acts of mercy,
he said he would be elevated almost in an
ecstatic state. And he felt as if he were an
angel, that there was no gravitational state and
that he would be flying in total ecstasy, his
only way to describe it. This particular aspect
continued. And he saw it on 3 consecutive days, same thing.
And after 3 days, Christ asked him if he was
willing to go back to His people and preach the
message of Divine Mercy to a world in dire need
of mercy and spend his whole life doing it. And
he agreed to immediately and he said it was the
most joyous occasion that he had ever experienced
in his life, that he had been asked by Christ to do this mission.
Christ told him at that point, "I will appear
to you whenever I have a message for you and I
will appear in the form of dreams. And during
this particular aspect I will give you any
message that I feel is necessary for you or My
people, the world. And since that time Stanley
has been receiving dreams, messages sporadically,
sometimes twice a week, sometimes once every 2
months and it usually occurs approximately at the
3 o'clock in the morning hour.
Father Seraphim asked if there was any
significance to the 3:00 in the morning and
Stanley said yes, there is. He said that's the
hour of the resurrection of Christ in the
morning. Father Seraphim was very astounded by
that because it's never been revealed and Stanley said, "I am to reveal it".
And that, further, the reason it's
significant is that many people in the world
today are being awaken at the 3:00 hour in the
morning and he said that's not by chance. Christ
is asking and wants him to tell people that do
awake out of a sound sleep at 3:00 in the
morning, that the reason for it is that He is
asking them to pray for the conversion of sinners
and to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for them
at that moment. And he went into a detailed
explanation of what has occurred to him.. He does
it every single night and he wakes up at 3:00 every morning and does it.
So that is what it is if you're being awaken
in that hour, Christ is asking at this time to
pray for the conversion of the world through the
Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The messages then began
to come and he's been receiving them.
Now, when he awoke after his death
experience, he had an infused knowledge, where he
knew everything concerning the Divine Mercy,
things that are almost incredible. Father
Seraphim is probably the foremost authority in
the world and Stanley could basically quote The
Diary of St. Faustina [697 pages] and he had
total knowledge of the different devotions and
the depth of the devotions which even in some
aspects were a complete surprise to Father
Seraphim which again was something that really
was astounding to both of us because I have been
involved with the Divine Mercy approximately 15
years myself and some of those things Stanley had told us we were astounded by.
As he was discussing these different aspects
of the Divine Mercy devotion, it was an
astounding revelation to us. What he had to say
basically was, some of the messages are
prophetic. I'll give you the last known message I
have. I'm sure he's had others since. On February
11th this year, he said that the world is in
crisis, the 2nd and 3rd quarters of this year are a crisis for humanity.
What he had to say is this and he said this
is the significance: He said the opening of the
doors on Christmas Eve by the Pope for the
Jubilee Year are of the utmost importance to the
whole world. The world has no idea of the
importance of these doors and the significance of
these doors in entering through them. It's my
reason for going to the United States . In it he
said Christ said to Faustina in the diary,
"Before I come in glory, I will throw open the
doors of My mercy. And all those who pass through
the doors of My mercy I will protect as My own at
the hour of death. Those who refuse the
opportunity to pass through the doors of My Mercy
must pass through the doors of My Justice." And
he said those doors that He's referring to are the doors of this Jubilee Year.
And then he went on and tied something in
that was almost incredible. In the image of the
Divine Mercy that was accepted by Christ through
Faustina. In that image Christ is standing in
front of the door and the door is closed. Stanley
said that is the door and the significance of why
Christ chose that particular image is because at
some point when that door is thrown open, which
is NOW, all must pass through that door, and in
the process, He is standing in front of the door,
you pass through His Mercy. When you pass through
the door it's not just a physical thing that
you're going through, you are to prepare yourself to walk through the door.
Stanley said that Christ told him that the
Church is not emphasizing this enough. It needs
to be emphasized! The Pope has declared it. He's
declared plenary indulgences for any and all
people going through those doors. This is
unusual, the plenary indulgences you receive for
passing through the Holy Doors, the designated
doors m every diocese, during this year. You can
receive a plenary indulgence every day for the
whole year once you have passed through the
doors. If you remain in the state of grace,
receive communion that day, pray for the
intentions of the Pope, and during the day do
some work of mercy be it spiritual or physical."
Stanley mentioned this as he was telling us
about the healings, that Christ comes off the
image and heals. Fr. Seraphim stopped him and
said, "Wait a minute, what are you saying?" And
he said, "Jesus Christ comes off the image," and
the image remains blank. Fr. Seraphim asked, "How
many times has this occurred?" And he said, "Well over a hundred."
There had been numerous healings, but on May
27-28, 2000, there was a conference in Manilla
and it was attended by Cardinal Belo and 3
bishops and Stanley was one of the main speakers
at the conference. Following that we just
received word there were healings of blindness of
3 people, 2 paraplegics and a number of cancer
patients healed at the time. This was only 3
weeks ago, so he has a major healing ministry as well.
There is one other aspect that I haven't
mentioned which I should concerning Stanley
that's of major importance, is that Stanley in
1996 was going to give a conference in Manilla to
a large number of people, 5,000-10,000, and he
speaks Sabu which is a different dialect in the
Philippines from Manillan and he was very
concerned about it because he had never spoken
through a translator before. He was praying to
Christ the morning he was leaving to go to
Manilla. Christ appeared, and he told Christ he
was nervous, and could He assist him and help
him. Christ's answer to him was don't worry about
it, do the best you can and I will do the rest.
When he began speaking to the crowd in Manilla in
Sabu dialect the people heard in Manillan.
Astounding miracle. Like Pentecost. They're major
events and I should have mentioned them earlier. I'm sorry.
End.
