Page 139 of White Noise Keywords: "streets," "saying," "rehearse," "thought" Disco Pigs (2001) Interesting Irish film. Pig and Runt - born on the same day, in the same hospital, moments apart. Twins, all but by blood. Inseparable from birth, they are almost telepathic. They are also partners in crime, with an appetite for recklessness, exploration and destruction. But days before their 17th birthday the perfect balance of their world begins to shift. Pig's sexual awakening and increasing jealousy begins to threaten the private universe they have spent their lives constructing. Unable to contemplate the loss of Runt, Pig's unpredictable nature spirals out of control in a trail of violence. The invisible thread between them is stretched to breaking point, the inseparable are about to separate, and which one will survive depends on which one can break free. Gordy (1995) A talking pig named Gordy becomes involved in a quest to save his family from the slaughterhouse. La Settima donna (1978) aka Terror aka The Last House On the Beach The Italian Last House on the Left. Sister Cristina (Florinda Bolkan) plays a nun who takes the teenage girls in her care to a remote house where they rehearse A Midsummer Night's Dream. Three thugs show up, brutally raping and terrorizing the girls, killing one by raping her with a cane, until Bolkan renounces her teachings and seeks bloody revenge. Terror Train (1980) I love this dumbass film. Could have used some nudity though. A college fraternaty prank goes bad and student ends up in the mental ward. Four years later, it's graduation time, and the members of the fraternity decide to have a costume party aboard a train trip to celebrate thier graduation. Unknowingly to them, a killer has slipped aboard, wacking them off one by one, disguised in the costumes of the victims. Terror Tract (2000) Follows the House That Dripped Blood scenario. Bob Carter, a suburban real estate agent, tries to get a kindly couple, Allen and Mary Ann Doyle, to buy a house only to give them horrifying stories about the pasts of three of them. In the first story "Nightmare" a businessman discovers his wife cheating on him only to be killed by his spouse and her boyfriend in which she begins having dreams of her husband not staying dead. The second story "Bobo" involves increasing fear and paranoia from a kindly family man whose young daughter finds and adopts a stray monkey who turns out to be more than meets the eye. The third story "Come To Granny" involves a trouble teenager with psychic abilities who visits a therapist to warn her that she happends to be the next victim of a vicious serial killer called The Granny. Monster a-Go Go (1965) Big cheese. Major cheese. MST3K worthy. An astronaut comes back to Earth and crashes in a field, incredibly irradiated and wreaking havoc. Just as they have him cornered, he disappears, and the "real" astronaut is found 7,500 miles away in the Pacific Ocean, "alive, well, and of normal size." Suddenly there was no trail. There was no giant, no monster, no thing called Douglas to be followed. There was nothing in the tunnel but the puzzled men of courage who suddenly found themselves alone with shadows and darkness. With the telegram, one cloud lifts, and another descends. Astronaut Frank Douglas, rescued, alive, well, and of normal size some 8000 miles away in a lifeboat. I Tre volti della paura (1963) aka Black Sabbath Bava. A trio of atmospheric horror tales about: A woman terrorized in her apartment by phone calls from an escaped prisoner from her past; a Russian count in the early 1800s who stumbles upon a family in the countryside trying to destroy a particularly vicious line of vampires; and a 1900-era nurse who makes a fateful decision while preparing the corpse of one of her patients - an elderly medium who died during a seance. The Wind (1987) Suspenseful, atmospheric thriller finds Meg Foster as a novelist who is stalked by Wings Hauser in a small, deserted foreign village during he middle of a really bad wind storm. Wheels of Terror (1990) A small town is terrorized by an unknown stranger who kidnaps and abuses little girls. When her only child is kidnapped right in front of her, the schoolbus driver begins the desperate chase to catch the criminal. Hero and the Terror (1988) I love this Chuck Norris movie. I think it's his best. Danny O'Brien (Chuck Norris) is back in action fighting the notorious Simon Moon, also known as The Terror. Three years earlier O'Brien had single-handedly captured The Terror and was called Hero by the people of L.A. Now Simon has escaped and has started killing women again, and O'Brien is the only man who can stop him. The Sadist (1963) aka Sweet Baby Charlie Three people driving into Los Angeles for a Dodgers game have car trouble and pull off into an old wrecking yard where they are held at bay by a bloodthirsty psycho and his crazy girlfriend. Cosa avete fatto a Solange? (1972) aka What Have You Done to Solange? One of the very best of the giallo. A teacher who is having an affair with one of his students takes her out on a boat. They see a knife killing on shore. Other gruesome murders start occurring shortly thereafter, and the teacher suspects that he may be the cause of them. The Devonsville Terror (1983) Dr. Worley investigates a 300-year-old witch's curse in the New England town of Devonsville. Three liberated, assertive women move into town, which angers the bigoted, male-dominated town fathers. One of the women is a reincarnation of the witch, who proceeds to exact revenge on the town males. Nurse Sherri (1978) The Possession of Nurse Sherri Horror movie about a demented professor of the occult, whose soul jumps into the curvaceous body of Nurse Sherri (Jill Jacobson) shortly before he dies on the operating table. The possessed lady in white then begins stalking, seducing and kill people - even her boyfriend - until someone puts an end to the madness. Al Adamson. L'Orribile segreto del Dr. Hichcock (1962) aka The Horrible Dr. Hichcock The year is 1885, and necropheliac Dr. Hitchcock likes to drug his wife for sexual funeral games. One day he accidentally administers an overdose and kills her. Several years later he remarries, with the intention of using the blood of his new bride to bring his first wife's rotting corpse back to life. Nightmare Circus (1974) aka Barn of the Naked Dead This may well be the worst movie of all time. Three showgirls on their way to Las Vegas have car trouble and are stuck all night out in the desert. The next morning cheerful Andre (Andrew Prine) offers them help in fixing their car. However, Andre is really a maniac with a lot of family problems; his mother ran out on him when he was a child so now he keeps kidnapped women chained up in his barn and trains them to perform circus tricks. Andre's father is still around of course, but because the old homestead is next to a nuclear test site he has been transformed into a raving homicidal mutant that Andre keeps locked up in a shed. Kaitei daisenso (1966) aka Terror Beneath the Sea Rubber suit monster! Mad scientist plans to rule the world with his fishmen/water cyborgs from his underwater base. Sonny Chiba in an early role is the hero and American Peggy Neal plays the girl in trouble. Cyclone (1978) aka Terror Storm Rene Cardona jr. If the storm doesn't kill you... the sharks will! Who will survive? Disaster film with some shocking exploitation scenes. The filmmakers used real corpses to feed the sharks! Quite high in the gross-out department. Poodle death. Terror at Tenkiller (1986) Two young girls, Janna and Leslie, go to summer vacation at lake Tenkiller, somewhere in Oklahoma, U.S.A. Leslie is stalked by her nasty boyfriend, and someone is killing young girls near the lake. Is there a connection to an old legend? Just a slasher. The Terror of the Tongs (1961) I dunno if this can be had, but I remember staying up late to watch this Hammer film. A secret society of Hong-Kong at the beginning of the century called "The Red Dragon Tong" kidnaps the captain of a ship in the harbour of Hong-Kong as he tries to detain the killers of his daughter. Because the secret society is very powerful it is not easy to free him from their hands. Terror Eyes (1989) A frustrated advertising executive is confused to receive a job assignment from her boss to write the screenplay to a horror film. Recruiting the help of her friends, a weekend camping expedition becomes the forum for each to share their scariest stories, which become frightfully real. La Casa del terror (1960) House of Terror Lon Chaney jr starts off playing a rather rotund mummy who is stolen during a press conference by a mad doctor. The mummy miraculously gets revived and essentially turns into Larry Talbot, right down to the black clothes, and therefore into a wolf man. Now add in a scared wax-museum caretaker, wax figures that are really dead bodies, spooky graveyard shots, a secret laboratory, a hirsuit Chaney chasing Tin-Tan around the lab, a musical number and a King Kong-like finale that has the werewolf climbing up the side of a building with the girl over his shoulder. Story is, Ed Wood directed Chaney dragging the girl up the side of a building in full werewolf regalia. Cementerio del terror (1985) aka Zombie Apocalypse aka Cemetery of Terror This is supposed to be out on DVD. The Sexy Erika Buenfil, Edna Bolkan and Jackie Castro along with their boyfriends go to a house in the middle of a cemetery, where one of them finds a book that says how to bring the dead back to life. So soon the boyfriends convince the girls to steal a body from the morgue but the dead guy turns out to be a psycho killer. Eventually they perform a ceremony and before you can slit someone's throat the psycho is alive, and of course he starts killing the students one by bloody one. A group of kids also visit the same cemetery where they are terrorized by the same psycho. plus the living dead who have risen from their graves. Dead Calm (1989) An Australian couple take a sailing trip in the Pacific to forget about a terrible accident. While on the open sea, in dead calm, they come across a ship with one survivor who is not at all what he seems. Nicole Kidman naked. What more could you ask? Young Sherlock Holmes (1985) I just plain enjoy this movie. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson meet as boys in an English Boarding school. Holmes is known for his deductive ability even as a youth, amazing his classmates with his abilities. When they discover a plot to murder a series of British business men by an Egyptian cult, they move to stop it. You're sitting in a room with an all-southern view. Suddenly, a bear walks by the window. What colour is the bear? Red! The bear is red! Why on Earth would the bear be red? The southern sun is very hot. The bear would be terribly burnt! That is the most absurd answer I've ever heard. I can't afford to jeopardise my medical career! Weasel. I'm not a weasel. I am... practical. Weasels *are* practical. And I imagined you courageous and stout of heart. I am courageous. And I'm stout of heart. It's just that... oh, all right. I'll do it. Yes, Mister French Pastry. I have nothing whatsoever to say to you. I trust you have nothing to say to me. We immediately sprang into action, searching every nook and cranny for the cloth. I accidentally turned on one of Waxflatter's strange machines, and not being at all mechanically-minded, I had the dickens of a time trying to turn the thing off. Peeping Tom (1960) One of the least known classics of the horror.suspense genre, this film was considered despicable when it was first released, and was actually banned in many places. There's no gore and no real sexuality so it's hard to understand now, why it was considered so bad. As a boy, Mark Lewis was subjected to bizarre experiments by his scientist-father, who wanted to study and record the effects of fear on the nervous system. Now grown up, both of his parents dead, Mark works by day as a focus-puller for a London movie studio. He moonlights by taking girlie pictures above a news agent's shop. But Mark has also taken up a horrifying hobby: He murders women while using a movie camera to film their dying expressions of terror. One evening, Mark meets and befriends Helen Stephens, a young woman who rents one of the rooms in his house. Does Helen represent some kind of possible redemption for Mark - or is she unknowingly running the risk of becoming one of his victims? Fear X (2003) If you like David Lynch, you'll likely enjoy this. About 9 on the weird-shit-o-meter. A Wisconsin security guard who is obsessed with finding the killer of his wife. His wife was mysteriously killed by a man at the mall where he works. His obsession leads to watching surveillance tapes over and over again looking for clues and piecing them together. He asks about a strange house, one across the road from where he lives, ostensibly to move there but the real estate agent tells him it is leased to some corporate account. He then breaks in and finds photo negatives which he has developed and goes in search of the people in the photograph which leads him to Montana. Sorcerer (1977) For some reason, I remember this as a very strange film. I haven't seen it in years. William Friedkin, starring Roy Scheider, music by Tangerine Dream. Based on the French film Salaire de la peur, Le (1953), this production begins with the individual beginnings of outcasts of different backgrounds who are forced by fortune to work in a remote oil drilling operation in South America. When fire breaks out of control the outcasts are given the opportunity to earn enough money to get out by transporting two crates of unstable dynamite through miles of jungle in ancient trucks in this taut thriller. One stunt features two trucks attempting to cross a rope bridge over a raging river. Strange Behavior (1981) A scientist is experimenting with teenagers and turning them into murderers. One of the best films no one's ever seen. Lemora - A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1975) A notorious bank robber kills his wife and flees the police, only to be captured by a mysterious group of figures in an abandoned town. His beautiful daughter, receives a letter stating that Lila's father is near death and that he needs to see her. Sneaking away at night from her minister guardian, Lila embarks on a terrifying journey to find her father that leads her to a mansion run by Lemora, a seemingly loving woman who cares for a group of gypsy children and a witch-like servant. Once the terrifying secret of Lemora is revealed, Lila must uncover what happened to her father and fight for dear life as she tries to escape the clutches of the undead! Mother's Day (1980) I love this cheesy movie. I consider it a classic. Three women who were friends in college get together for a ten year reunion and decide to go camping in the woods. Unknown to them, two boys and thier mother who happen to live in those very same woods, like to abduct people, who happen to wander in thier neck of the woods, and torture them, just like they see on TV! Even though it's a Troma release, it's NOT a Troma movie. Mute Witness (1995) Billy Hughes, a mute makeup artist working on a slasher film being shot in Moscow, is locked in the studio after hours. While there she witnesses a brutal murder, and must first escape capture at that time, then keep from being killed before convincing authorities of what she's seen. Plot twists galore follow as Billy tries to stay alive. The Ugly (1998) As the film begins, a shackled man with a pillowcase on his head is led down a hallway of what appears to be an institution of some kind. He's taken into a room and chained to a chair, suffering some abuse by a couple of orderlies who look like rejects from the film The Road Warrior. Soon Dr. Karen Shoemaker arrives, and we learn she's here to provide an independent assessment of the man, whose name is Simon Cartwright, as he's serial killer of sorts who's been institutionalized for the past number of years. The thing that seems to puzzle authorities the most is Simon doesn't display any of the expected predilections of a serial killer, as all his victims have almost nothing in common, just people, some he knew, some he didn't, chosen at random to meet a grisly fate at the end of a straight edge razor. As Dr. Shoemaker begins to delve into Simon's past and his psyche, we witness some of his crimes and he talks about how voices in his head instructed him to do the things he did, forcing him to comply as they wouldn't stop badgering him until he did, to which we see there may be elements of the supernatural kind at work...we see a history of harassment from schoolmates and co-workers, along with rather harsh treatment by Simon's slightly cuckoo mother. Simon seems willing enough cooperate with Dr. Shoemaker at times, but then one can't help but feel his cooperation is more of a manipulation tactic to get what he really wants, which is still unclear at this point. Eventually Simon is able to gain Dr. Shoemaker's trust enough to allow him some minor liberties, but that ends up with Simon escaping and, well, you'll just have to watch the film if you want to know more... Eye of the Storm (1991) At a highway gas station/motel/diner where they live, two young brothers witness their parents murder. The younger brother is blinded in the same incident. Ten years later both brothers are still there and the tragedy may have turned one of them psychotic. When the abusive Gladstone and his young and sexy wife are stranded at the gas station it brings out the worst in everyone. The Calling (2000) On her wedding night, a young woman conceives a child during an hallucinatory encounter. Several years later, as her friends and family begin to behave strangely, she pieces together clues that lead to one conclusion...her son is the Antichrist! Dylan speaks backward, spikes pet rodents, kicks dogs, makes people to kill themselves, spends his spare time hanging upsidedown nailed to crosses and woofs at the most interesting times. Not too shabby for a baby devil. Next of Kin (1982) The story is about a woman named Linda who comes back to her home town in order to take possession of a home for the elderly which she has inherited as a result of her mother's death. As Linda adjusts to moving back home and catching up with old friends, her troubled past begins to haunt her. Things get even harder for her when she finds her mother's diary and begins to read through it. She learns that her mother had feared that someone was watching and following her. Also, some of the patients had died under suspicious and mysterious circumstances. Soon Linda begins experiencing the same fears and events her mother wrote about in the diary. She is now being watched, followed and her patients are dying off as well. She learns the truth of what is happening in the films tense and devastating conclusion. Taste of Fear (1961) aka Scream of Fear After narrowly surviving an accident in which she nearly drowned, the wheelchair bound Penny Appleby returns home to live with her widowed step-mother Jane on the French Riviera. She begins to question her sanity after several times seeing her father's corpse around the house and its grounds, and enlists the help of the friendly chauffeur Bob while attending Doctor Gerrard acts in a suitably sinister manner. No one is who they seem in this tale of intrigue and suspense. Octopus 2: River of Fear (2001) Nothing special, I just kinda liked it. Dead bodies are being found in the New York harbor. The police have no clues nor suspects until Nick and his colleague realize the killer is a giant octopus. Everybody, especially the police captain, refuses to believe Nick's story, and soon the harbor will be filled with boats for the 4th of July celebrations... Fleshburn (1984) A soldier who deserted because of spiritual beliefs was tried and evaluated by four psychiatrists, and they all concluded that he was unable to distinguish right from wrong, so he was sentenced to a mental hospital. One day, he escapes and kidnaps them and leaves them all in the middle of the desert. College Girl Murders (1968) Giallo by Umberto Lenzi. Not a great movie but, it's Lenzi. The groovalicious, swingin' '60s, complete with miniskirts and high-hopped hairdos, sets the stage for a red-robed monk and his killer whip in The College Girl Murders. A diabolical scientist cooks up a deadly gas and schemes to make millions. But, a midnight rendezvous with a shadowy benefactor goes awry. He soon finds himself "sent to the clouds," by the mysterious red monk's mighty white whip. The poisonous gas disappears. When an innocent college girl opens her Bible during church, noxious spray spews forth and kills her instantly. Sir John and Inspector Higgins are called in to investigate. The prime suspects include the headmistress' writer-brother and a nervous, sweaty-faced professor with a yen for young girls. Meanwhile, neck-snapped bodies begin popping up all over campus. Author Edgar Wallace, the creator of the original 1933 King Kong, concocts a fantasmic display of convoluted storytelling here, shimmied up against a beyond-groovy soundtrack that'll have you doing the watusi up until der finale ende. Harvest of Fear (2004) Medical intern Billy McKinley arrives in the small town of Devil's Lake and finds himself thrust into the middle of a mystery as a string of unsolved murders start just as the annual Harvest Festival is about to begin. The murders happen to be similar to those of 20 years earlier. Has the original killer resurfaced or has a copycat come to take his place? Now, Billy must find a killer and save the town before it's too late. Scares, blood, guts, a naked chick here and there, and a psychotic killer who slashes people for no apparent reason. What more could you want? Haunting Fear (1991) Brinke Stevens, okay. Victoria can't sleep: she's having bad dreams about being buried alive. Her husband Terry makes her go see Dr. Carlton, who she blames for her father's death. Unable to help her, he asks Dr. Harcourt to try and unlock Victoria's mental block with hypnotism. Meanwhile Terry continues an affair with his secretary, and worries about paying off a huge gambling debt. Terry could pay off his debt and be with his secretary if he could just get his hands on Victoria's money somehow. Das Mädcheninternat - Deine Schreie wird niemand hören (2001) aka Dead Island: Schools Out 2 Nina and friends are stalked by a masked killer while vacationing on an island. Actually has some scary moments. Midnight Fear (1990) Its the tale of a sexy young coed staying on a farm with her just a friend male college buddy who is a bit strange and immature. Later she'a held hostage by two brothers one a deaf mute who are looking for a way out of the area. But all three are being stalked by another killer. David Carradine is the drunk cop on and off the case who in a drunk stupor figures it all out. Olivia (1983) An American engineer in London, who is helping to dismantle the London Bridge to be transported to Arizona, strikes up an acquaintanceship with a young British woman. Several years later he happens to be at the bridge's new location and sees the woman again--but this time she's a real estate agent there, doesn't have a British accent and doesn't recognize him. Un Posto ideale per uccidere (1971) aka Oasis of Fear Giallo by Lenzi again. A young Scandinavian couple are rousted by the Italian police for selling nude photos of themselves. After, some strange misadventures with some gypsies (who rob them) they try to steal some petrol from the villa of a wealthy NATO colonel and are caught in the act by his wife. They charm their way into her house and seduce and victimize the older woman, but she has a surprising agenda of her own and soon the young couple find themselves embroiled in a murder and on the run from the law. Shadow Warriors (1996) It began as an experiment. The ultimate bodyguard - half man, half machine - programmed to do anything. Anything! Global Cybernetics, Inc. is making technological history. They can create a bio-mechanical, plasma-driven, Techno-Sapien - the best security system money can buy. But building one requires a human corpse. And when GCI's bodyguard, Taylor (Evan Lurie) is mysteriously gunned down, he becomes the company's 7.4 million dollar prototype, the "TS-4." At the "TS-4's" unveiling, worldwide demand is immediate. Driven by greed, company chairman, Dr. Connors (Terry O'Quinn) secretly programs a new model to hunt down other superior humans for Techno-Sapien mass production. His sinister plan is revealed when Security Council head, Barkeley (Timothy Patrick Cavanaugh), discovers a missing and dead, well-known athlete in an activation unit. Chairman Connors frantically sends his Techno-Sapien (Ruslan Tretyak) on a killing spree to destroy the entire company. Barkeley and top programmer, Natalie (Asheley Anne Graham), team up with the "TS-4" to find and terminate the doctor's rampaging, man-machine. All systems ignite as the two Cyborgs meet in a final, riveting battle of human brawn and high-tech mastery in this special effects, futuristic action thriller. Huo Yuan Jia (2006) aka Fearless Jet Li. Actually, a historically accurate movie. This film tells the story of Chinese Martial Arts Master Huo Yuanjia (1869-1910). Huo Yuanjia was the founder and spiritual guru of the Jin Wu Sports Federation. Fok Yuanjia dreams of continuing the legacy his father established as a world-class fighter in China. After reaching his goal, however, a personal tragedy causes him to disappear for several years. He's not heard from until the honor of defending his country in an international tournament surfaces. Hsiao chuan yi chao (1979) aka The Fearless Hyena Some of Jackie Chan's best fight scenes. Jackie Chan is a youngster, living in a remote vllage with his grandfather who teaches him Kung-Fu (naturally). He keeps getting into fights, even though his grandfather warns him not to show their Kung-Fu to others. Jackie, though, is tempted by some thugs he beat up to act as the master of a Kung-Fu school. This school's name apparently spreads far, as an old enemy of Jackie's grandfather (who turns out to be the master of an old gang or something equally obscure) shows up and kills him. Jackie goes on training with the help of another member of the old gang, until he can eventually get revenge. Fearless Fighters (1973) Totally over the top kung fu fun. See 10 incredible devil weapons used by Kung Fu masters. The really funny thing about Fearless Fighters is that none of the actors in the movie seem to know Kung-Fu at all! The story involves The Eagle Claw fighting clan, lead by To Pa, one of the most fearsome screen villains of recent memory. To Pa and the Eagle Claw clan robs the Almighty Imperial Lightning Whip (who looks exactly like Ming the Merciless) of government gold meant to aid the poor, tragically killing the Lightning Whip in the process. Lei Pong, the film's honorable hero, attempts to stop the theft, and in turn is framed for the crime and jailed. Meanwhile, the Lightning Whip's children, Mulan and Chen Yi Chung, seek to wack to fool who offed their pops. First they suspect Lei Pong, but after a daring jailbreak, Lei's honor, good looks and charisma wins over the Lightning Whip's children as allies, and the true culprit is revealed- the bloodthirsty To Pa! In an effort to kill the one man who can stop his evil plans, To Pa uses his ill-gotten gains to hire an army of freaks and weirdos, including such colorful characters as the Soul Pickers, the Sword of all Swords, the Dragon Raiser brothers, some wacko with a blond wig and Tiger Claws, and the infamous Loner, also known as...One Man Army. The resulting conflicts between Lei Pong and company with To Pa's minions are among the most ridiculous ever filmed! Gawi (2000) aka Nightmare Hye-jin's homecoming should have been a joyous occassion. She was especially happy to see her childhood friend again, the shy Eun-ju. However, when a secret is revealed, harsh words are exchanged. These words deeply affect Eun-ju and,in the next scene, we see her plummeting from a 30-story building. In a flashback provided by Seon-ae, we learn that the ghost of Eun-ju is hunting down all of Hye-jin's friends and killing them. Is this possible or is a more worldly force at work? What is this mysterious tape that everyone is asking about? Don't Be Afraid of the Dark (1973) A major classic and most likely the best made for TV horror film ever produced. A neurotic housewife named Sally and her business exec husband move into Sally's family house, a spooky two story Victorian mansion. When Sally starts the redecorating along with her pompous decorator she comes across a locked room in the house. After arguing with the handyman who insists she should leave the room locked, she finally gets the key. But once she opens her father's old study and has the bricks from the fireplace removed, strange things begin to happen. Sally begins to see small creatures everywhere, but no one will believe her. Her husband dismisses her as neurotic and her friend thinks Sally may be loosing her mind. But things take a deadly serious turn when the decorator trips at the top of the stairs and falls to his death. Sally sees a rope lying across the place where he tripped, but when she picks it up to take it, a horrifying little creature pulls it from her grasp. Is she crazy? Or has Sally released demons in the house, demons her father summoned? Sleepaway Camp (1983) Major classic. And Angela (Felissa Rose) grew up really hot, and is now starring in indy horror films. After a horrible boating accident kills her family, Angela, a shy and sullen young girl, moves in with her eccentric aunt Martha, alongside her protective cousin Ricky. One summer, Martha sends the kids to Camp Arawak. Soon after their arrival, a series of bizarre and increasingly violent accidents begins to claim the lives of various campers. Who is the twisted individual behind these murders? The disclosure of the murderer's identity is the most shocking climax in the history of American cinema. Satan's Sadists (1969) Classic biker trash by Al Adamson. The "Satans" are a very cruel biker gang led by Anchor. The gang goes to a diner in the middle of nowhere in the California desert where they begin to terrorize Lew and his patrons and his waitress, Tracy. After a little killing, one of the patrons named Johnny manages to escape from the bikers into the desert. They need to reach a town before the Satans catch up to them and kill them. Gate II: Trespassers (1992) I'm a HUGE fan of The Gate, and I'd kill to get a copy of this sequel. Just as good, and cheesier, than the first. It's been five years since Terry's friend Glen discovered The Gate to hell in his backyard. Glen has now moved away and Terry begins practicing rituals in Glen's old house and eventually bringing back demons through The Gate and leading to demoniac possession and near world domination. The Slayer (1982) Not great, but not bad either. Four young people vacation on a barren island. One of them, a female artist, has dreams that depict ghastly murders. Sure enough, the fun begins when her boyfriend is found dead. Return to Pontianak (2001) aka Voodoo Nightmare Kinda like Blair Witch, but better. A group of hip day travellers embark on a two-day hike into the jungle, in search of a lost Malay village. They do this for the benefit of a young Asian-American woman from the United States, Charity, who is intent on finding the resting place of her birth parents who went missing in this same place 25 years ago. But the trip turns out to be more than they bargained for. Very soon, the group find themselves amidst strange surroundings, being hunted by a young woman who carries a deep, dark secret. Runaway Nightmare (1982) Crazy little film if you can find it. Two hapless dorks, who happen to be worm ranchers, witness the burial of a woman in the desert near their ranch, and when they dig her up and bring her back to their place (she's still alive), they find themselves surrounded and taken prisoner by some fanatical feminist group. These women have something going on with "the syndicate" that involves stealing plutonium, double crossing and all those syndicate-related activities. As for the two dorky guys that get kidnapped, one, Ralph, is a born cynic with a dry sense of humor, who continually fires off deadpan one-liners. And he continually gets punched out or shot at for things he had nothing to do with. The group of women are a motley crew, some lesbians, lots of psychos. "Some of those beautiful women have some rugged-looking girlfriends". Rocktober Blood (1984) Cheeeeese. This horror movie begins with rock star Billy Eye (Tray Loren) losing his sanity and killing his colleagues at a recording studio. Billy is tried, found guilty and executed. The woman who testified against him at his murder trial is a successful singer with a group called Rocktober Blood. Two years have gone by, and just when she thinks the horror of the murder case is dead and buried, someone that looks a lot like Billy starts to terrorize her. Shock 'Em Dead (1991) Michael is a total looser, who nobody cares for. When he fails to get a position as guitar player in Lindsay's band and looses his job on the way, he makes a deal with a Voodoo priestess. She promises him the fulfillment of all his dreams if he swears obedience to her. He becomes a rock star and has many women - but to stay alive, he has to kill other people. Mei mong leung (1998) aka Nightmare Zone Horror anthology consisting of three stories: a bored young woman phones a friend, and is terrified when she hears her own voice pick up on the other end, a woman's noisy electric carving knife angers one of her neighbors, and a man who has had the same dream every night for ten years, possibly from a previous life. Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) Three students and a school teacher disappear on an excursion to Hanging Rock, in Victoria, on Valentine's Day, 1900. Widely (and incorrectly) regarded as being based on a true story, the movie follows those that disappeared, and those that stayed behind, but it delights in the asking of questions, not the answering of them. Detroit Rock City (1999) Stupid fun. Four members of a high school band called Mystery do everything they can to attend a KISS concert in Detroit. In order to make it to the show they must steal, cheat, strip, deal with an anti-rock mom and generally do whatever it takes to see the band that has inspired them to be musicians. Prey for Rock & Roll (2003) Prey For Rock & Roll is the story of Jacki and her all-girl rock and roll band, Clam Dandy, who are trying to make it in the LA club scene of the late 1980's. After ten years of being ignored by record producers, Jacki and the band find hope in one producer who promises to see them play and consider them for a contract. Jacki resolves to play this one last gig and then throw in the towel if she does not find success. Personal tragedies, however, threaten to rip the band apart, rocking the foundation of friendship and trust the women have built together. Ultimately, the band must find its strength in the music that is their passion and the thread that holds them together, inspiring them to prevail. Rock & Rule (1983) An animated cult classic. Angel, a member of a punk rock band in the apocoliptic future, is kidnapped by Mok, a legendary superocker. Obsessed with a dark experiment, Mok plans to use Angel's voice to summon a demon from another dimension. The rest of the band follows Mok to Nuke York in an attempt to get her back. "Cop Rock" (1990) If you never saw this when it was on TV, it is on DVD. One of the most bizarre TV shows ever made. The 1990s started off with one of the boldest experiments ever attempted in American television # the creation of an hour-long weekly television police drama, done as a musical. Longtime television innovator Steven Bochco, creator of major hits like Hill Street Blues and L.A. Law, took the biggest risk of his career. He brought the musical back to television but this time as a gritty, street-wise cop show called Cop Rock. The songs were written by a stable of songwriters ably led by the Oscar-winning Randy Newman. Half the critics thought it was the worst idea of the century; half thought it was pure genius. The television drama had been moribund for some time and Bochco created something entirely new, powerful, interesting, fresh. Nothing like it had ever been attempted before, and most importantly, it was done well and done seriously. Its detractors claimed it was unrealistic for cops and robbers to break into song, but none of them had complained quite this loudly about the various aliens that had appeared on the airwaves, about shipwrecked movie stars and millionaires, about bionic men and women, or about the rest of the lackluster crap filling the TV schedule. As an example of its audacity, its first episode alone included a rap song delivered by junkies as they're being arrested in a drug raid, a gospel number by a judge and jury convicting a drug dealer, a tender pop ballad by a husband about his much younger wife, and an R&B number by a corrupt lady mayor to the man who's just offered her a bribe. But the most powerful number came at the end of the episode. A young junkie sits on a bus stop bench singing a lullaby to her infant daughter, a haunting Randy Newman song called "Sandman" (later re-used in Newman's Faust). As she finishes the song, a station wagon pulls up, a man gets out and pays her $200 for the baby. As he drives away with the baby, the junkie finishes the lullaby and breaks down in tears as the music quietly ends and the camera pulls away. It was devastating. And it was brilliant drama. Unfortunately, it cost $1.8 million an episode # a record at the time # and its ratings were consistently dismal. ABC tried to get Bochco to drop the musical numbers but he refused, so they canceled the show after four months. Bochco later told Entertainment Weekly that of all his shows, Cop Rock was by far the most fun he had ever had making television. Years later, Cop Rock was partly redeemed as cable channel VH-1 rebroadcast the series and a new generation discovered its quirky brilliance. Rock-A-Doodle (1991) Stupid little animated movie that's immense fun. The rooster on the farm, Chanticleer, has to sing every morning for the sun to rise. One morning, he is stopped from singing and the other animals discover that he's a phony - the sun rises anyway. He becomes an outcast and runs away to the city. However, the animals discover that this was a mistake, because the sun stops coming up and rain, which causes a flood, begins instead. A few of the animals decide to go into town to find Chanticleer and ask him to come back. And they have to hurry, because the horrible owls, who love the darkness, are coming. Le Chaînon manquant (1980) aka B.C. Rock Another fun little animated film. Adult animated comedy with rock music soundtrack portraying a far-fetched explanation of the Dawn of Man. Tarzoon: Shame of the Jungle (1979) Again, just silly fun. Shame, the ape man of the jungle, is aghast when his woman, June, is kidnapped by a gang of giant penises. They take her to their queen, Bazunga, a bald woman with fourteen breasts. After tangling with a gang of great white hunters, a marauding lion and the Molar Men, Shame sets off to rescue her with only his faithful friend Flicka at his side. He heads for that darkest of areas ..... Bush Country! Las Luchadoras contra la momia (1964) Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy Deep in the heart of Mexico, archaeologists are being abducted and killed by the wicked Black Dragon and his all-oriental gang. The missing men were all members of a scientific party which had earlier entered an ancient tomb, and the Dragon is after something they had found there. Briefly evading his pursuers, one of the two remaining survivors of the party takes refuge in the Luchadoras' dressing room. When they discover him, he reveals he's looking for Mike, Lorena's secret service agent boyfriend. He explains the Dragon and his men are after the sections of an Aztec codex which offers a clue as to where their legendary treasure is concealed. One of the Dragon's men eliminates him before he can reveal more. Charlotte, the daughter of one of the dead researchers, is staying with the lone surviving scientist. Kidnapped and brainwashed by the Dragon, she's placed back with the heroic group to act as his spy. A key delivered in the lining of a sombrero puts the girls and their boyfriends on the trail to a part of the codex. Escaping a trap at a nearby hotel, they locate the missing paper in a locker. The dragon's men, however, possess inside information. They arrive in time to start a second fight. The Dragon proposes a deal: the girls will compete against his two judo girls and the winners of the match will take all of the segments of the codex. The Luchadoras naturally win, but the Dragon doublecrosses them when Mike tries to arrest him. The group manage to translate the codex and learn that the secret to the treasure is to be fond on a golden breastplate in a hidden tomb beneath one of the pyramids. Also buried in the chamber is Tezamoc, a warrior with supernatural powers who had been cursed to be the piece's eternal guardian. Nora-neko rokku: Sekkusu hanta (1970) aka Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter, the third in a series of five Stray Cat Rock films, stars hard-as-nails Meiko Kaji as the leader of a gang of vicious teenage schoolgirls who get their kicks with gang fights, street muggings, and rock and roll. Blind Beast (1969) A blind sculpter kidnaps a beautiful young model and takes her back to his home. He and his mother live in a warehouse that he has turned into a surreal tribute to the senses. It is filled with huge sculptures of body parts and the female form. He is obsessed with exploring the senses to the fullest. At first, the model only wants to escape from this bizarre scene, but eventually she succumbs to his strange vision and even surpasses his obsession. Punk Rock Zombie Kung Fu Catfight (2004) Silly. So silly. The "hair metal" explosion of the 1980s was actually engineered by some very silly-looking animated insects from outer space who later killed Kurt Cobain and made it look like a suicide. Now they begin kidnapping, tying up, torturing, and brainwashing hot-looking multi-racial New York rock chicks in an attempt to reclaim their former glory. Bizarre underground cult movie that manages to be dark and light simultaneously. Seishun dendekedekedeke (1992) aka The Rocking Horsemen It is 1965. High-school student Takeyoshi Fujiwara Yasufumi Hayashi) hears "Pipeline" by the Ventures, and is mesmerized by their unique sound. With three friends, he forms a band called "The Rocking Horsemen." A warm and comic glimpse into high-school and small-town life in Japan in the 60's. Motor Psycho (1965) Russ Meyer sleaze. Three bad boy motorcyclists get kicks raping other people's women and generally being a nuisance. When they rape a veterinarian's wife, he takes exception and pursues them, teaming up with a Cajun woman whose husband they killed. The leader of the gang, a Vietnam Vet, begins showing signs of being a few slices short of a loaf. By Hook or by Crook (2001) Shy, a small-town butch with a nagging messiah complex, heads to the big city to immerse herself in a life of crime. On her journey, she meets her match in Valentine, a wise-acre adoptee who is searching for her birth-mother. The two lonely grifters join forces and embark on a journey through the skid-row streets of San Francisco and learn the true meaning of poise under pressure and the importance of friendship. Did you ever hear about those monks, who just walk around real slow and careful, and they're careful about everything, and they don't step on any bugs, and the main thing is that they don't hurt or kill anything their whole lives? What's your point? Well... we're just hitting lots of bugs all the way along here. Are you a girl or a boy? Both. I Dood It (1943) Red Skelton's best film. Constance Shaw is a dance star on Broadway, Joseph Rivington Reynolds is a keen fan of her. After she is fed up with her friend, she meets Joseph and marries him, because she thinks he is the owner of a mine. But that's a missunderstanding, he works at a cleaning shop. After disturbing rehearsals he is thrown out of the theater, but when he sneaks in again, he discovers his boss talking about a bomb they want to set in the theater to blow up an ammunition store next door. Blood Hook (1987) MAJOR cheese. It's time for the annual "Muskie Madness" fishing contest, and the lake is packed with hopeful fishermen. It soon becomes apparent, however, that a psychotic serial killer has also decided to join the festivities. Although the police have determined that the killer is claiming his victims by landing them with giant fishhooks, no clear suspects can be found since everyone is using the exact same hook! What is the killer's goal? And more importantly, can the murders be stopped? Lao hu tian ji (1978) aka Dirty Tiger, Crazy Frog Sammo Hung. Multi-Hand Chick asks Crazy Frog for protection after stealing someone's wallet at the casino. Foolishly he accepts, and even more foolishly he follows her home and removes his Invincible Armor when she pretends to be willing to sleep with him. However, Dirty Tiger would really like to have that armor himself... Sandy Hook Lingerie Party Massacre (2000) In a grisly spectacle of carnage, an unknown number of severed body parts wash ashore at Sandy Hook. A jogger literally stumbled upon an upper torso that had washed ashore as she sprinted down the beach at the end of the torrential hurrican that had knocked out power and had folks heading for the mainland. Police were summoned to the stately manor house of Mr Creepo after neighbors complained of screams coming from the property during Halloween week by seven strippers. Located just off the beach - a stones throw from he area's historic landmark lighthouse -- the dwelling sits atop catacombed chambers that lead to the town's now desolate funhouse that once attracted throngs of visitors. One source said it was the most grisly crime scene they had ever witnessed, with mangled bodies scattered everywhere. Mountaintop Motel Massacre (1986) After several years in an insane asylum, Evelyn, the keeper of the Mountaintop Motel, is released and resumes doing business. She kills her young charge out of anger, but convinces the police it was an accident - and pushed into insanity, she then proceeds to target her guests, first by releasing vermin into their rooms, but then by using her trusty sickle... Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988) Fred Olen Ray and one of his best movies. Jack Chandler is a private eye tracking down Samantha the runaway. In his travels, he comes across a gang of chainsaw weilding prostitutes that like to carve people up for their cult. The Pyx (1973) A detective investigating the death of a heroin-addicted prostitute uncovers evidence pointing to the existence of a murderous devil cult. Cannibal Hookers (1987) As a sorority initiation, two girls have to pose as hookers. Then they turn into zombies and start killing and eating the locals. A so bad it's good film. Frankenhooker (1990) Bizarre film from the maker of Basket Case. A medical school dropout loses his fiancée in a tragic lawnmower incident, and decides to bring her back. Unfortunately, he was only able to save her head, so he goes to the red light district in the city and lures prostitutes into a hotel room so he can get parts for his girlfriend. My women just blew up on me. In a blaze of blood, bones, and body parts, the vivacious young girl was instantly reduced to a tossed human salad...a salad that police are still trying to gather up...a salad that was once named Elizabeth. Oddballs (1984) Roll Over "Meatballs" The "Oddballs" Are Ready For Summer Camp! A surprisingly original summer camp movie tells the tale of Hardly Basset, a grouch that has taken over 'Camp Bottomout" because of winning a poker game, and he gets help my his daughter Jennifer in order to run is properly. Sadly when the kids arrive they're seperated from the females, but that doesn't stop the boys. They head across river to spy on them when we find out that the girl's camp owner J. Frothingham Skinner plans to buy out the boys camp and turn it into a shopping mall. Will Hardly's grinchy heart grow three sizes, or will he sell of the camp for $300,000? Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996) It's just funny as hell. "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in the Hood" is a parody of a lot of Afro-American movies, for instance "Boyz N the Hood", "South Central", "Menace II Society", "Higher Learning" and "Juice". We follow Ashtray as he returns to the place he grew up in and meet his father and his basket-case friends. A lot of crazy stuff happens, for example, Ashtray is older than his father and his best friend Loc Dog's grandmother is a trigger-happy old lady who blames her eccentric-looking kid for not being tough enough. Comic Book: The Movie (2004) Well for starters its Mark Hamill walking around, pretending to be a super comic book nerd that centers his attention around a 1940's circa comic book, that Mirimax has recently picked up to be made into a modern day movie. The production company wants it to be bloody and action packed, Donald Swan (Hamill) wants it to be more like the older comic he has grown to love and adore. So the movie company hires him as an "expert" to go around and get the average joes "perceptive" on this would be movie (which is not real people). What makes this mock-umentary so neat is that big names like Stan Lee, Bruce Campbell, and Kevin Smith play along like its the real deal, and talk to Hamill like he isnt Hamill. Even the fans don't rush him yelling Skywalker or anything. Overall its fun to watch, and funny to see the conventions he goes too, and naturally Kevin Smith is pure gold!! A must own for any comic book fan. Tales from the Hood (1995) I love this black version of Tales from the Crypt. Clarence Williams III is great as the funeral director. When three drug dealers are called to a funeral parlor to collect a stash of drugs, they are greeted by the creepy, eccentric Mr. Simms, who proceeds to tell them four moralistic tales of terror regarding the deceased who lie in his parlor. The first tale concerns a man murdered by crooked police officers and the officer who begins hearing his voice from beyond the grave to avenge his death. The second story deals with a boy named Walter, the monster who torments him, and the teacher who realizes that something is wrong. The third story deals with a white supremacist running for governor who lives in an old house with a history of racial violence and who refuses to heed the warnings of the supernatural presence that occupies it. Finally, the fourth story deals with a career criminal who agrees to undergo a horrific behavioral modification program overseen by a government-employed scientist. The stories each become gradually scarier as Mr. Simms go on and as the drug dealers begin to lose their patience, until they are ultimately given what they have come for - and find that there is something much more evil to the funeral home than they ever realized. Yat luk che (2002) aka Just One Look Set in 70s Hong Kong, Just One Look tells of Fan, whose policeman father commits suicide in a cinema toilet, but Fan believes he was murdered by a gangster nicknamed 'Crazy'. Ten years later Fan contemplates avenging his father's death. Meanwhile, he and best friend Ming, who are movie fans and sell their family wares outside the local cinema, decide to enlist for kung fu lessons after spotting the master's beautiful daughter. But Fan falls for a mysterious girl who lives in the countryside. Angel of H.E.A.T. (1983) As a fan of Marilyn Chambers, I couldn't resist. A mad scientist uses an army of androids and a device that can disintegrate metal to try to steal microchips containing top secret information. The government dispatches a beautiful female agent to stop him. Cadaver Bay (2003) (V) Great indie film. His death was accidental, though no one would believe it. The plan was to resurrect him with an ancient spell. But the spell didn't work. Now they've cut him up into little pieces with the intention of dumping the parts in the bay. Only now the spell begins to kick in... The Mummy's Hand (1940) Fun. A couple of comical, out-of-work archaeologists in Egypt discover evidence of the burial place of the ancient Egyptian princess Ananka. After receiving funding from an eccentric magician and his beautiful daughter, they set out into the desert only to be terrorized by a sinister high priest (George Zucco) and the living mummy Kharis who are the guardians of Ananka's tomb. Inmuga-in (1981) aka Hitman in the Hand of Buddha A country bumpkin arrives to help his brother's rice business. Things get out of hand while a rival company becomes corrupt. The expert send his teacher to hurt the hero and succeeds. The hero is sent to a temple where he learns a new style of kung fu. Now with the skills, our hero is ready to get even. The Stalking Hand (2005) Pure trash. When a young man get fresh with his date her father, a preacher, goes insane and severs the young man's hand with a chainsaw. The severed limb, understandably bitter about the whole affair, spend eternity stalking and killing every living human it encounters. Jue dai shuang jiao (1992) aka Handsome Siblings Something of a parody of wire work kung fu movies. Durring the Tang Dynasty, a kung-fu tournament was held once every 18 years with the winner declared the leader of the land until the next competition. But a tournament with such high stakes brings out the best, and worst, in the various competitors and leaders. Li san jiao wei zhen di yu men (1976) aka Deadly Hands of Kung Fu aka The Dragon Lives Again Brucesploitation insanity. Bruce Lee goes to hell, only he doesn't look like Bruce Lee because people look different after they die. Along his journey Bruce has a major erection, befriends Popeye, and fights "Clint Eastwood", James Bond, Zatoichi, Emmanuel, a mummy, and others. I'm not making this up. Just when you think the movie can't get any better we reach the life affirming Wizard Of OZ meets The Red Balloon climax. Red Spirit Lake (1993) A girl gets a house by a lake when a relative is murdered. Her friends show up and start having sex then get killed by some crazy perverts. Blobermouth (1990) The L.A. Connection are a comedy troupe who did live performances at the Nuart Theatre in the early '90s. They would show some campy '50s movie with the sound turned off and recite their own dialog over it, in the manner of "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" This is a recording of one such revision, that of the original 1958 "The Blob." Every gesture and nuance of the actors on screen is incorporated into the new dialog in hilarious fashion. They also contrive an entirely new "story" around the action. The Adventures of Bob & Doug McKenzie: Strange Brew (1983) Classic Canadian comedy. Something is rotten at the Elsinore Brewery. Bob and Doug Mackenzie (as seen on SCTV) help the orphan Pam regain the brewery founded by her recently-deceased father. But to do so, they must confront the suspicious brewmaster and two teams of vicious hockey players. And I'd like to point out that these tapes have not been faked, or altered in any way. In fact they have time coding, which is very hard to fake. Would you please explain for the court "time coding." Well, uh, just because I don't know what it is, it doesn't mean I'm lying. He once got our dead battery goin' by mixin' bird feces and spit, cause there's like acids in it, eh? Fleshy-headed mutant. Are you friendly? No way, eh? Ra-... radiation has made... me an enemy of civilization. Alpha Base. This is Bob McKenzie. I have a fleshy-headed mutant in the Forbidden Zone. The Return of Swamp Thing (1989) Pure cheese. The Swamp Thing returns to battle the evil Dr. Arcane, who has a new science lab full of creatures transformed by genetic mutation, and chooses Heather Locklear as his new object of affection. Fuego (1964) aka Pyro aka Pyro... The Thing Without a Face A forgotten classic. A married man has a brief affair, then goes back to his wife and children. His jilted mistress, believing that if he had no more family he'd come back to her, sets fire to his house, hoping to kill them. The man, unsuccessfully trying to rescue them, is horribly burned. After he undergoes an operation to reconstruct his face, he begins to plot his revenge against his former mistress. Shutter (2004) aka Shutter: They Are Around Us This Asian horror film starts off with a young couple driving back from a get-together late one night and hitting a girl that suddenly appears on the road. Tun is a professional photographer. He starts noticing some strange flaws in his pictures.Great ghost story. Scream and Scream Again (1969) Vincent Price, Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. Adam & Evil (2004) aka Halloween Camp 2 A group of sexy high school graduates are ready for a weekend of serious partying at a remote camp ground. Soon a murderer is on the loose... Shriek of the Mutilated (1974) Bad bad movie. Classic bad movie. A group of college students are led by thier professor into the mountins in search of the Yeti. Each student is slowly killed of by what they beleve to be the Yeti. It turns out to be the professor and his friend, dressed up in a costume, who both belong to a cult of cannibals and use the legend of the Yeti as a lure so that one surviver can go back and say the Yeti got them. Is something wrong, Tom? Nothing a good stomach pump wouldn't cure. Sonny boy, I make it a practice never to interfere with folks when they're bound and determined to get someplace. Cause no matter what I say, they're bound to get there, and they're bound to get what they went there for. May not make much sense to you; makes sense to me. People say that he's downright nasty, he's mean and he's gruesome. He'll make your threesome into a twosome. Now is your chance to make a break, don't let a moment go to waste. On the prowl, hear him howl, here comes the Yeti now! Silent Scream (1980) On my top 10 list of all time favorites. Scotty moves into Mrs. Engels' seaside mansion where three other college students are boarding. Mrs. Engels prefers to stay in her room in the attic, but her son Mason helps the students get settled. Soon one of the students is killed. The policemen on the case begin uncovering the Engels family secret as the remaining students become endangered. Ivanna (1970) aka Blood Castle A beautiful young woman travels to a remote estate to seek employment as a biochemist for Baron Janos Dalmar. A rash of rather brutal murders occurs in the area and she soon discovers that the Baron is not what he seems. Not long thereafter, the Baron transforms into a demon, and the beautiful young woman becomes his very own love slave. Scream Queen Hot Tub Party (1991) Completely pointless nudity. Kelli Maroney's breasts! Five of Hollywood's leading scream queens get together in a creepy mansion and decide to get in the hot tub (as true scream queens would). They talk in the tub and exchange secrets on the do's and don'ts of being a scream queen. The Runaway Bus (1954) A creaky old British comedy that I have great love for, mostly because of the presence of the inimitable Margaret Ritherford. When heavy fog prevents all aircraft from leaving London airport, a group of passengers take an airline bus to get them to an alternative airport. However, one among their number is the mastermind behind a bullion robbery at the airport... and particularly keen to escape the fog! Scream Bloody Murder (2003) just silly fun. In this horror spoof, the girls from Cherry Mount Academy are on their way to a dance at a nearby all-boys school when the van they're riding in breaks down. With no other choice but to spend the night at their tow truck driver's junkyard, the girls soon find themselves at the mercy of a cold-blooded killer. Silver Scream (2003) To keep itself from being torn down, a haunted theater pulls its owner and 3 teens into the classic horror films that have played on its screen for so many years. 964 Pinocchio (1991) Totally bizarre Japanese movie. Pinocchio 964, lobotomised cyborg sex slave, is thrown out onto the street by his owners because of his inability to maintain an erection. He is befriended by a criminally insane, memory-wiped, homeless girl. Meanwhile, the corporate entity who manufactured and sold him plots to kill him because of his malfunction. Girls School Screamers (1986) Just an average slasher disribed by Troma. What can I say, I'm a fan of slashers. Seven college girls spend the weekend at an elegant estate which begins as a fun filled adventure but ends in a nightmare of gut-wrenching terror. La Residencia (1969) aka The House That Screamed aka The Finishing School Lilli Palmer owns and runs a school for wayward girls in Spain. Her absolute discipline has fostered a social order among the girls with rampant sex, lesbianism and torture the norm. Palmer also has an adolescent son (Moulder Brown) she tries to keep isolated from the young women lest he be tainted by sexual relations; She explains that he must wait for a girl "just like his mother". Meanwhile, girls are "running away" (being murdered) one by one, with their corpses and any evidence of their outcome not to be found. Beware cut versions; the film was shown back in the 70's on network TV chopped to only 76 minutes! Silent Madness (1984) A homicidal maniac is accidentally released from a hospital because of a computer error and heads to the site (a sorority) of his past murders to continue his penchant for mayhem. Dr. Joan Gilmore takes off after him while the hospital administrators cover up the mistake and send some staff thugs out to get both the doctor and the escaped lunatic. The Earth Dies Screaming (1965) Forgotten classic. A crack space pilot returns to earth to find the planet has been devastated by some unknown forces. There are a few survivors, so he organizes them in a plan to ward off control by a group of killer robots which re-animate dead human bodies. Survivors of the invasion are besieged by the walking corpses of slain friends and neighbors..... The Hypnotic Eye (1960) May be the cheesiest movie of the 60s. The city is stricken by a wave of self-mutilations performed by beautiful women who seem to be in a hypnotic trance. The authorities suspect a stage hypnotist with a popular act, but the stakes are raised when the hypnotist sets his sights on the girlfriend of the detective investigating the case. What is the hypnotist's secret, and why does it seem to involve his beautiful assistant? Las Garras de Lorelei (1974) aka When the Screaming Stops Made by the same dude who made the Blind Dead flicks. The legendary Lorelei has been living for centuries in a grotto beneath the river Rhein in Germany. Every night when the moon is full, she turns into a reptile-like creature craving for human blood. When one girl after another of a nearby boarding school is killed by her, a hunter named Sigurd is engaged to kill the monster. Ice Cream Man (1995) My favorite Clint Howard movie, and a great flick. Poor Gregory! After being released from the Wishing Well Sanatorium, all he wants to do is make the children happy. So Gregory reopens the old ice cream factory, and all the unappreciative brats are reprocessed into the flavor of the day! La Bestia uccide a sangue freddo, La (1971) aka Slaughter Hotel A man and his wife are driving through the countryside in an automobile that looks like a bathtub. We learn that the wife is suffering from some sexual-homicidal malady and is being taken to a sanitarium for treatment. She attempts to strangle her husband, who continues driving at no reduction in speed, while fighting off her attack. As she temporarily recovers her senses, her husband asks, "I can understand your trying to kill me - but why try to kill yourself?" They then arrive at the sanitarium, where he drops her off in the parking lot saying that he is sure that she will have a fast cure. He does not take her inside the building or introduce her to any of the sanitarium staff - just drops her off in the parking lot where she promptly attacks a member of the staff! The sanitarium is a strange place. It is housed in an old Italian castle with a front door that was designed for very short people. Many characters use this door over the course of the movie and have to bend their heads almost as low as their waists in order to pass through. Once inside - keep in mind that this is a sanitarium for mentally disturbed people - the building is decorated with numerous, functioning, medieval instruments of death and torture. These dangerous instruments are basically laying about, in reach of anyone who chooses to employ them! The psychotherapy practiced at the sanitarium is somewhat unique. It involves playing croquet, checkers, and having sexual relationships with the staff! Liquor is served to the patients during evening social gatherings - apparently to "loosen them up!" Into this brew, add a masked maniac - who walks with a swagger that looks as though he is a tenderfoot and just got off the back of a horse - who commits seemingly random, ghastly murders. He uses the asylum's "decorations" as convenient murder weapons. Somehow, the sanitarium "professionals" are not aware that there are any murders being committed at all - no one seems to question the absence of the victims - until the very end of the film! The final scene of the movie is perhaps one of the most violent, gorey episodes ever filmed up to that time. The Asylum (2000) Jenny is tormented by dreams where she sees herself, as a young child, murdering her mother. Her psychiatrist father (Patrick Mower) is of no help, and so she sneaks out of her home one night to return to the asylum where her family once lived, and where her mother died. Three other people - a mad priest, a phony medium and a drug addict - are also drawn to this location by forces they do not comprehend. It turns out that they are all tormented by the same dreams. Each thinks he/she is guilty of the murder. In the asylum, the murders begin again. Who is the killer? Slumber Party Massacre II (1987) Hey, I liked it. Courtney, the younger sister of the "new girl across the street" in the first film is all grown up now, but suffers from nightmares about the Big Wet Incident. She and the other members of her female rock group go to a condo for the weekend to play music and have fun with their boyfriends. Courtney's dreams are of her sister, who is in a mental institution, warning her of having sex, and the dreams begin to spill into real life, threatening Courtney and her friends as they begin experiencing an attrition problem. Slumber Party Massacre III (1990) Liked this one too. After a hard day of volleyball at the beach, a teen whose parents are away decides to have a slumber party with her girlfriends. Their boyfriends predictably show up to scare them, but a stranger from the beach is also seen lurking around the house. Soon the group begins experiencing an attrition problem. Cheerleader Massacre (2003) Five high school cheerleaders, their coach and a couple of adolescent sex-crazed guys travel to a cabin in the woods for a weekend getaway only to be killed off one by one by an unseen maniac. Slumber Party '57 (1976) Teenage Slumber Party Pointless nudity. In 1957, a group of high school girls spending the night in a mansion tell each other about their first sexual experiences. Mai nei dak gung dui (1982) aka Fantasy Mission Force Jackie Chan. Similar to "The Dirty Dozen" or one of that nature. Japan is trying to take over the world and the generals of the allied forces trying to stop the Japanese have been taken prisoner. A force of loners and fighters is put together to try and rescue the generals and save the war effort with the promise of gold and/or pardons of past crimes. Graveyard (2003) Clerks, with zombies. Two minimum wage employees discover that their boss has not only killed them, but has brought them back from the dead to exploit them for free labour. Inspired by years of drudgery and minimum-wage slavery, Graveyard is the story of two under-appreciated bookstore clerks, their paranoid yuppie necromancer boss; an irrationally violent thief; a homeless guy; and the endless night-shift that brings them together. Invasion of the Bee Girls (1973) aka Graveyard Tramps A powerful cosmic force is turning Earth women into queen bees who kill men by wearing them out sexually. Doll Graveyard (2005) These Full Moon movies are just underappreciated. It's 1905 when 12 year old Sophia plays all by herself in her big, creepy house with only four handmade dolls as friends. When her abusive father has finally had enough, he forces her to bury them in the backyard. But, after she "slips" and breaks her neck, dad buries her right along with the dolls. 100 years later, the Fillbrook family moves into the very same house. Guy Fillbrook finds the buried dolls while playing in the backyard. Much like Sophia, Guy has no friends and is the constant source of harassment from Tom and Rich. After Sophia's spirit possesses the dolls, they come to life, protecting Guy from further harm. One night, Guy's sister DeeDee, has a party with her best friends Terri and Olivia. After smoking and drinking with the boys, the dolls stand up for Guy once and for all, violently showing the nasty teenage boys who's boss! With no testosterone left to protect them, the girls fight to the death! Shock Treatment (1981) The sequel to Rocky Horror, I like this one. Not least because it stars the luscious Jessica Harper. Following on from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", this musical is set several years later in Brad and Janet Majors' hometown - which has become a giant TV station; residents are either participants or viewers. They are married now, but their romance has fallen on the rocks. Ostensibly to fix their marriage, Brad is imprisoned on the program "Dentonvale" (the local mental hospital) while Janet is conscripted to become a new star. As Janet is entranced by the high life, she forgets Brad. Who is trying to woo her away? Macy Struthers with my husband. God, I must have been blind! Still, the weaker the man, the dumber the blonde. Oh my god, character actors! Shocking Blue (1994) I don't know if this cult movie can be found. A unclad young woman lying in bed with a twinkle in her eye tells us about a recent discovery. In a long flashback, she visits her fiance's empty apartment on their wedding eve, discovering a porno video. She's angry, then hurt, then confused: she decides to find out why men watch porn. She asks a series of odd men. An on-call gigolo (dressed as a doctor) and a man who's her best friend join her on the couch to coach her in this search for the purpose of porn. Via TV, they get help from philosopher Stephen King. When discovery comes, will she find desire, loneliness, or fantasy at porn's core? Dogs (1976) They used to show this on TV now and then. It was always pretty good. On the quiet campus of the remotely-located SouthWestern University, something strange is happening. All of the dogs in the area, once loyal, gentle pets, are now banding together in wild packs and hunting down their former masters. Could the strange transformation have anything to do with the secret government experiements being conducted in the school's physics laboratory? More importantly, can the dogs be stopped before it's too late? Slaughter (1972) For me, this is the best of the blaxploitation genre. Jim Brown was BAD. Slaughter, a former Green Beret, avenges the killing of loved ones by the Mob, and in so doing is coerced by the Feds into traveling to Mexico to finish off surviving mobsters. Eaten Alive (1977) Classic BAD movie. Judd runs the Starlight Hotel out in some sort of swampy place, and is unfortunately a few slices short of a loaf. He has a crocodile conveniently placed on the other side of the front porch railing. The croc will eat just about anything, as the hapless guests of the hotel find out soon enough. A reformed hooker, an unlucky family, and the father and sister of the hooker all suffer various rates of attrition as Judd tries to implement damage control. Lisa, Lisa (1977) aka Axe A group of 3 pyschopaths on the run from the law, go about terrorizing the local townsfolk of a small community, before descending on an isolated farm which is home to a young girl named Lisa and her paralysed father. After being raped by 2 of the gangsters she retaliates using an axe and razorblades. Slaughter's Big Rip-Off (1973) The sequel. The mob put the finger on Slaughter...so he gave them the finger right back--curled tight around a trigger! Slaughter Studios (2002) First we have our Director. A man with a dream, a camcorder, a two page script, and an array of misfit actors. See him try to get everything together for the ultimate movie, yet see his dream smashed on the rocks of a stormy beach. The cast won't cooperate, the night watchman is lurking about, there's a ghost, and a horndog Arab boy. Who can win with this much against them? Alas our hero dies miserably, film unmade. Next is our Horndog. What 12 year old boy didn't act like this? What 20 year old man? What 30 year old man? Yes the story and character are as old as mankind itself. Guys like big breasts and think of sex 23 hours a day (when they're not eating). Next is our Starlet. She is beautiful, spoiled, a pain in the arse, and drugged up. She won't take her top off until she's drugged, she can't be raped until she's willing. She dies without knowing what's going on. Now for our Goth. She's smart, she's hot, she wears black lipstick. Not nude as often as I'd like, but an able bodied chum you can depend on. Like all Goths. On to our Super-Chested Fantasy Girl. Ah, now here's a woman! Stacked in front and back. Her downfall is her love for the dead actor. How about the Demure sex kitten? She's quiet, you can walk all over her, and she'll take all your abuse. To boot she has a great body and looks swell with her hair down. She's like the cousin in your own family that you wish you weren't related to. You might as well forget about what you're thinking everytime you see her. Of course theres always the lesbian fantasy, but we get that in our film here. Finally we have our I'm just a dude in a bug costume guy. The common man, the good man, the man of virtue and truth. Oh how well known you are my friend, though unappreciated. Filmed in Roger Corman's studio. Camp Daze (2005) aka Camp Slaughter A group of kids break down while driving down a remote forest road. After a disturbing night alone in the woods, they stumble upon Camp Hiawatha in full swing and packed with seemingly happy teenagers. However, the teens and the camp itself are strangely trapped back in 1981. The clothes, the music, the hair, and the attitudes are 24 years back in time. The campers are forced to relive the same day and night over and over again. The night when a silent killer stalked the camp silencing campers and counselors one by one. The kids from the present struggle to understand and help the teens from 1981 break free of the curse. Working together both time-periods begin to learn about the different worlds from which they come and what it will take for all of them to survive. Hayride Slaughter (2001) Jim O'Rear and Tina Krause star as a pair of psychic investigators who are hired to find out who's ritualistically murdering people at a popular Halloween haunted attraction, Frightland. The bodies begin piling up as the owner of Frightland loses patience. Will the investigators learn who the killer is before it's too late? Hayride Slaughter II (2003) Jim O'Rear returns as Clifford James, hellbent on revenge and ready to claim the power that was denied him. Using a wealth of magical skills picked up in the Hell-dimension he was banished to, Clifford and his lovely assistant pick off victims one-by-one in unusual and clever ways. Will Detective Joseph Peale be able to stop him again or is Clifford's power too great?? Slaughterhouse of the Rising Sun (2005) Odd. Jennifer (Cheryl Dent) has just been released from a mental institution where she was incarcerated after a psychotic episode during which she clawed out the eyes of her co-star during the shooting of a porn flick. After being waylaid in the desert by a couple of thugs, she is rescued by a group of flower children, who soon turn out to be more dangerous yet. They head to the house with a bad reputation, and then the murderous hippies start being killed off one by one. By Jennifer, or by something else? Don't mix it up with another Slaughterhouse movie which is a waste of time. Slaughterhouse Rock (1988) This one was cheesy but kinda cool. A man visits Alcatraz prison after having dreams about all the people who died there. When he gets there, his brother is possessed by an envil cannibal demon. The ghost of a female heavy metal singer who was killed there tries to help the man fight the monster. The Russians Are Coming the Russians Are Coming (1966) Dated but still funny 60s comedy. When a Soviet submarine captain comes up for a look at America (off the coast of a small island in Massachusetts) he runs aground. He sends his two English speaking crewmen to procure a boat with enough power to pull them off. The 2 English speakers and 6 Russian sailors don't exactly blend in and the town is convinced that they are being invaded. I'm sorry, I-- I wasn't trying to-- Well, I-- I was trying to kill you, I'll admit that, but it wasn't-- I mean, it wasn't anything personal. Hmm... don't do it no more. The Stoned Age (1994) Determined to avoid another night of driving aimlessly around Torrance in the Blue Torpedo, Joe and Hubbs set out on a quest for fine chicks. Their paths soon cross with Tack, from whom they learn about a pair of foreign radical chicks hanging out near the Frankie Avalon place. Over Joe's objections, Hubbs worms Tack out of the deal, and the pair take a slow ride toward their destiny. I'd kick his ass if it wasn't for his massive upper body stregnth. Ever since you got hit by that laser at that Blue Oyster Cult Show you've been acting like a pussy! Where do you get your values? From that stinking heavy metal music you listen to day and night? Yeah, that's it, man. It's all the music! You know everything is just fine until we just listen to a couple of heavy metal albums. Then we get all fucked up! What the fuck, Joe! Is that fuckin' eyeball lookin' at you again? I Saw What You Did (1965) William Castle. When two teenagers make prank phone calls to strangers, they become the target for terror when they whisper "I Saw What You Did, And I Know Who You Are!" to psychopath Steve Marek (John Ireland) who has just murdered his wife. But somebody else knows of the terrible crime that was committed that night, the killer's desperately amorous neighbour Amy Nelson (Joan Crawford). Zotz! (1962) A long time favorite. om Posten finds the ZOTZ! coin, and discovers its awesome powers. He attempts to make the secret available to the US government, but is brushed off as a lunatic. Tom has some fun with the power of Zotz. The discovery becomes the interest of foreign agents, who attempt to steal the secret any way they can. Tom is captured, then escapes and is pursued. At the conclusion the coin is lost, our government realizes its error, and at the end of the movie is engaged in a massive search for the coin. House of Whipcord (1974) aka Photographer's Models An old man that lives in an old house conducts a correctional institute for girls. But he does not realize that the date is the present as he is cooped up in the house. He is assisted my a matron who likes to get the girls into trouble and present them in front of the old man who thinks he is the law and he passes out punishment. Afterwards the girls get tied to a cross and whipped. Meanwhile The matrons son falls in love with a girl at a party and bring her to the this house. Jûichi-nin iru! (1986) aka They Were Eleven Classic anime. A group of students from the Cosmo Academy are about to take their final exam: surviving for over fifty days in a derelict ship. But when they arrive, they discover that instead of ten students, there are eleven. One of them doesn't belong there. -- Every time I try to push the envelope, I get a paper cut. http://www.bonestructure.net
