Motion graphics and visual-effects are powerful tools for experimentation and visualization in media works. This class, a first-of-its-kind collaboration with UCSD Extension, will offer students a hands-on class in After Effects where they will be taught the basic workflow and techniques of motion-graphics. Students will meet with Professor Trigilio to review and critique their motion-graphics works and to explore the conceptual & narrative material made possible by working with motion-graphics tools. Though each student will author his/her own projects, students
will be expected to work collaboratively when needed, supporting the production
of their peers.
60% will be based on all projects (as developed, produced,
and presented at CRITS 1-3 and in the final exhibition/screening).
40% will be based on class participation in discussions
Students are expected to attend all of every class meeting.
